Meet Our NEW Children's Minister:
Jenny Lusty
Jenny and her husband Brian have been members at Alameda for nearly nine years, and during that time Jenny has been a consistent and valuable volunteer in our children’s ministry program. Over the past year, she has been the lead organizer of our elementary Bible curriculum and has recruited volunteers to serve in our elementary Bible classes. She has directed VBS, initiated the Kindergarten graduation ceremony for our little ones and their parents, and has taught Bible classes for every age group in our children’s ministry - all as a volunteer.
Jenny has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma Christian University. She was a public school teacher for six years, and has homeschooled her own children for the last three years. Jenny has a great vision for the future of our children’s ministry, a sustained passion for children’s ministry, a deep relationship with God, and the practical skill set needed to lead our children’s ministry. We are thrilled to welcome her to our ministry staff.
Jenny’s husband Brian is a Captain in the Army National Guard and is currently deployed in Afghanistan. They have four children: Cooper, Wyatt, Abram, and Maribeth.

Our Goal

The goal of The Rock Children's Ministry is to make Sunday morning the best morning of the week for your child.
Our Mission
The Mission of Alameda's Children's Program, which includes our Nursery through Elementary Program, is to develop children who know God is their rock and Christ is their foundation. (Psalm 18:2; Matthew 16:18)
Our Values
Eight values that aid in giving us direction for deciding how the ministry makes decisions are:
- God-Centered focus. God and His Word are foremost.
- Child-Centered direction. Leaders look through the eyes of a child to discover what they listen to, sing, play, and watch.
- Application Oriented to the lives of our kids. We place great emphasis on ensuring that lessons presented apply to the lives of our kids.
- Safe. The security of our children is critical. In all activities we ask, "Are the children safe in what we are doing?"
- Fun. We strive to provide a structured environment where our children have fun while learning about God.
- Relational environment. Because relationships are essential to all of us, we want to nurture and build relationships between children and with adults.
- Creative methods of teaching. Our teaching teams are encouraged to think outside the box. They will use a variety of techniques to get the message across to our children.
- A sense of Belonging for each child. Everyone craves a sense of belonging. Our programs strive to meet the unique needs of each child in a loving and caring manner.
