“2010 acts of service in 2010” is a bold initiative that the Alameda Church of Christ is embracing in the year 2010. Our goal, as a congregation, is to perform 2,010 acts of service for one another and for our community. All that is required to meet this goal is for each “family unit” (defined as a family of members or as a single member) at Alameda to carry out ten acts of service during the year – that’s less than one per month!
When you have done an act of service please let us know by emailing Rusty Tugman (rusty.tugman@alameda-church.org) or Jenny Jones (jenny.jones@alameda-church.org) so that we can keep a running count and share inspiring stories that will “spur one another on to love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24).
The purpose of this initiative is not to boast about our own accomplishments; rather, it is simply a tool that is designed to keep our focus as a congregation outward instead of inward. We also want to demonstrate that serving others in the name of Jesus is fun and spiritually rewarding. So, please join us in serving others!
